Wow. Love this lake. Early July, the water was high and the normal emerging weed was sparse so we fished the west edge along and in the reeds. Got 315 bass in 4 days (seriously!). Yum dinger and Rapala stick baits. A few in the 4 to 5 lb range, many 2 to 3 lb, but majority around 1 to 1.5 lbs.

Wow. A friend and I were there around the same time and took 315 bass in 4 days (yeah we play this "count the fish" game like a couple of kids). The trick was to work the the reeds on the west edge of the lake. Water was high and in that heat, the fish looked for shade. We used Yum dinger blue black flake mostly, but also our old favourite - Rapala stick bait in a perch pattern on light tackle was a blast. Best of all was getting a beer at Sirdar pub afterwards.

Fiahed it 3 days last week. No cloud cover and clear skys. Weed growth was sparse for this time last year. No floating weed mats and bass were harder to find. Did find some under usual bassy areas. Still a great place for bass fishing. Should be better in a few weeks. More places forth bass to hide.

Fished the lake last week of May 2012. Windy and wet. Water levels fairly high, so went to the west side along the reeds. Fish only came on strong after 3pm. Over 7 days we took hundreds including 7 in the 4 lb range. Blue black flake yum zingers - we went through bags of these, but they out fished anything else and in the wind were more controllable. Saw a squadron of pelicans on the lake. Hope they don't chow down on the bass.
